Really good read! I like how you point out Michaelangelo knew he was creating for a larger purpose, whereas today, art is not meant to outlast the creator. Made me think how many creatives, due to the side hustle culture and social media and etc., create and share solely for likes. This piece gives me—and all your readers!—a lot to think about!

The pursuit of beauty and truth is a timeless endeavor. As Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." Michelangelo's art invites us to examine ourselves and our world, to contemplate the big questions of life, death, and what it means to be human. In the words of the Apostle Paul, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." (Philippians 4:8) Let us continue to seek out and create art that elevates the human spirit and inspires us to live more meaningful lives.
